pharmacy (interactive performance)
2012

This is documentation of an interactive performance for the exhibition "pre/proscribed." at gallery AC[2] on October 27th, 2012.
I wanted this piece to function as another immersive aspect of the exhibition by making the act of consumption a thought provoking experience, where the viewer was reminded of their presence in the space and their own involvement becomes an important component of the installation. Two pharmacists eagerly await to dole out pills on pitry dishes. One type of pill is sweet and pleasurable while the other is salty, strange, and a little hard to swallow. It is the viewer’s choice of which one they want first without any knowledge of the ingredients or side effects. Menu created and designed by Caleb Trahan. Performers are Tamara Wilson-Shier and Nick Shier.
